Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian born actress. Her fame was primarily in America for her role as Felicity Smoak in The CW series Arrow. Rickards, who was raised within British Columbia, is Canadian. Her acting career began in the early years of her life by taking classes in dance, musical theatre and various forms of entertainment. After high school, she graduated earlier and enrolled in the Vancouver Film School, completing the Acting Essentials Program. She auditioned at an open audition after having completed the program. This led to her being accepted with an agent. She was a student at her school, the Alida Vocal Studio in Vancouver. She was originally signed to be a guest on one episode of the show however, her overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and her ability to joke made her a first choice as a guest-star and later, as a co-star for the remainder of season 1.
