Chaka Khan.....................Chaka Khan is one of the most popular and richest R&B Singer who was born on March 23 1953 in Chicago Illinois United States. R&B vocalist, whose version of Prince's I Feel for You has been an enormous success. I feel for You from Rufus, which she also fronts is well-respected. Rufus is another band she has joined. Khan was raised as a Catholic. She attended the Hyde Park Saint Thomas the Apostle Church elementary school. Her grandmother introduced her to music as an infant. Khan began to be a huge fan of blues and rhythm when she was a teenager and, at eleven formed a girl group the Crystalettes which included the sister Taka. Khan participated in numerous civil right rallies during the late 60s along with Connie the second wife of her father who was a supporter of the campaign. Khan joined the Black Panther Party when she first met Fred Hampton from Chicago. Many have believed they were Chaka was her name, it is not true. during her time with the Panthers. Khan clarified her name was actually the Yoruba Baba had given her the first name she was given, Chaka Adunne Aduffe. She left in 1969 the Panthers and dropped out of high school, having previously attended Calumet High School and Kenwood High School (now Kenwood Academy). She first began performing around Chicago in bands of small size and with her lover Hassan Khan. Chaka and Hassan were married in the year 1971.
